Zainal Abidin Yusof

Zainal founded Candid Bureau in 2004 after a decade in the regulatory affairs division of a domestic banking group, where he ran licence applications and remediation programmes with Bank Negara.

He now leads the firm's regulatory practice and takes personal charge of the files where a board's licence, or its standing with a regulator, is on the line. Clients keep him close because he tells them what a regulator will think before they find out the hard way.

Zainal is a Chartered Governance Professional and has advised on more than forty successful licence applications across banking, payments and capital markets.
